Michael Cortez, Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Graduate Gemologist and third generation jeweler, founded Gemological Services in 2000 to offer consultations for fine jewelry establishments and individuals throughout California. Within a few years the company had expanded to form World Gemological Services and we now provides our expert services to the clients around the world. We have two locations to best serve you in Newport Beach, Orange County and Solvang, Santa Barbara County, California.

Insurance Jewelry Appraisals

World Gemological Services (WGS) is your experience diamond, jewelry and gemstone appraiser in Newport Beach. We are Gemological Institute of American (GIA) graduate Gemologists providing insurance appraisal reports for diamond engagement rings, wedding rings, studs, bracelets, earrings, pearls, pendants, necklaces, ruby, sapphire, emerald, tanzanite, pearls, gemstones, and antique jewelry. 

Estate Jewelry Appraiser

WGS provides estate jewelry appraisals including the sorting and evaluating of gold, silver, platinum, diamonds, pearls, fine jewelry and gemstones in a written appraisal, or verbal when requested. Jewelry Estates appraised from single to large at Estate Fair Market Value for Executors, Attorneys, Donations, Probate, Estate Planning, Divorce, Resale, Personal, Bankruptcy, Collateral and IRS needs. 

Jewelry Appraisal Process

We are easy to get a hold of! Simply call or email us to schedule an appointment or coordinate mailing us your jewelry. During these social distancing times, mailing may be your preferred method in which we make it easy. We often recommend using a local jewelry store since they will have the required insurance coverages for their packages or you can use FEDEX. After receiving your jewelry we will perform our extensive impartial and expert evaluation then send you back your jewelry along with your Appraisal Report.
